Food Tasting

The family moving as a group to M Hotel for the food tasting. Convinently make this the renuion dinner :P

Welcome note from the hotel

Catching up before the dinner.

Overall the food was fine but noted the fish being overcooked with some scale and infromed the hotel chef to be careful on the actual day. Loved the yam paste, dear's fav dessert.

Took a peek at the banquet reception area. Big and spacious and most importantly isolated from the rest of the hotel for some privacy.

Will be putting up a wedding poster for our guest book. Do look out for it at the reception area.

There is another reception table just outside the banquet hall and still not sure how to utilise it.

Still some loose end to tie and 3 more weeks to go. Countdown begins.

Wedding team gathering

Invited the bros and sis to a team gathering before the big day. Good food starts off the day and we were soon in discussion over the proceeding for the day.

The girls went into retreat to discuss the grand plan for the day to give us guys a good time at the gate.

Bryan and Jiayi daring Lucas. Been good on that day.

The team photo to cap it off. Believe the team will help me pull off a great show on the biggest day of Adeline and my life thus far. Thanks dear for making most of the prep work.

Pre-wedding Day Part 1

On Wednesday, 16th of Dec 2009, we finally took our pre-wedding shoot. We were very nervous because worried about the weather since we were not taking any studio shot but all outdoor shots.

We arrived Bliss Bridal Creation at 10.10a.m by cab. MUA started helping makeup till when we were almost done (left only e hair), I had a terrible stomache, actually is a diarrhoea. After which I realized Justin also had the same problem. I guess it should be the bee-hoon we ate in the morning. After the makeup was done, we hurried to the car provided by the shop. The team of the day consisted of a photographer, a assistant photographer, MUA, the chauffeur and of course us! I guess I will not be spoiling the surprises as to where photos are taken. Wait till e photos are ready, then we will blog more about it.

Just a little give-away, that's almost what we will be wearing during our 1st march-in and of course without the "WOW" hair accessories. My gown is mainly black and white color-scheme. I feel it is much more outstanding than a pure white gown. Although the design is not exactly what I wanted. Initially I wanted a silk ribbon and brooch tie to the nearly the side of my waist but designer suggested that embroidery will look nicer.

We also prepared some props. Bought e balloons at party-city and a sunflower at Holland village. So happy that we are able to buy everything at Holland V since it is so near to our house. Lazy is the word to describe :P. We came back to the shop around 6.30p.m. Exhausted, we decided to just have our fast food dinner at Burger king.

Groom's shoes

What about my Bear's shoes? Justin decided to buy shoes from Pedro because of the variety of shoes.

Here they are:

This is a pretty shining brown suave shoes :P A bit of vitage look. He will be wearing this with his black jacket and pants.

He always wanted to buy a pair of white shoes however I wonder how long it will last. He will be wearing this during the 1st march in. And of course, it will be a total white shirt, jacket and pant.

Our Wedding website is up and running!

Hi loyal fans,

I've created a website for our wedding. It includes our stories, pictures, team, etc. The most important feature will be the RSVP function. We've used google's doc feature to collect all mailing address and attendance details. It is pretty friendly as we can export it into excel. Here is the address: Our website

Our strategy is to get people's attention via facebook since most of our friends use facebook, after which we need their help to provide their details via our website. Though our AD is on the 13th of March '09 and there's mix feelings from friends where some found it too early, and some found it pretty late to send out invitation. I personally feel this is the right time to start asking people whether they are available to attend. Since we are using online method, I believe it may take longer time, and hopefully, we are able to get as much replies by end of Dec, so that 1st week of Jan, we can go down to the printer shop to print. They will take around a month to complete printing. By estimation, we will be able to send out invitation in late Jan or early Feb'09.

Back to the website..

This website is actually the 2nd version. Intially, I created 4 different frames but after some thoughts, I decided to use tables instead. I also changed the banner a couple of times. If you look at our blog's banner, it is pretty similar to our website banner, in order to show some consistency :)

There's also a guest book section which allows friends to put in their well-wishes. Hopefully, there will be more entries. If there are alot of entries, we might consider putting up during the banquet. cool hoh :P

I'm using webs.com for hosting our website for free. The only problem is that you are not able to upload mulitple files at one time. Other than that, everything have been good.

Cheers,
ade

Wedding Shopping - Bride's Wedding Shoes

As I have shared with my gals, I've spent quite a sum of wedding shoes. Here they are.

I bought two shoes from Loe and Behold. Fall in love with their shoes when I visited their website. After which I booked a appointment with them to select the shoes. This is the ivory shoes with ribbon and pearls.

This is a black lace shoes with ribbon. I love this shoes partly because of the lace. I feel it will go well with my main white and black gown but Bear said I should wear the ivory one. So I guess I will wear this for the evening gown or maybe the black boots.

This is the first shoes I bought from NineWest, thinking it will be fun to wear this with my evening gown though I dun think anyone can see them since I will be wearing a long gown. Anyway, I still can wear this in one of my photoshoot wearing short gown. I can visualize myself wearing this more often e.g. with jeans then the above shoes.

I guess the total cost of these 3 shoes can sum up nearly $500 bucks. I must be crazy!

Selection of wedding and evening gowns

A few days ago, a friday, we went to Bliss Bridal Creation to select and try designs of wedding and evening gowns. Meiqi, my "daughter", qiqi, took leave to accompany me. I also asked Joven too cos I think she will be excited on such stuff too. She told me how she wished she can get married soon too. So guys out there, if you see this post and interested to know her, can leave some comments on this blog. hahahahaha. Before we went to the bridal shop, we treated the ladies to a chinese restaurant, Crystal Jades at Marina Square. We ordered some noodles, and chatted while enjoying the lunch. I also show them some of the designs I have gathered.

We reached the Bridal shop around 12 something and kept trying on wedding gowns and evening gowns till 4.30p.m. Finally, I decided on a wedding gown and a evening gown. However, I'm still indecisive whether to take the ready-made gowns to exchange for just 2 pieces of 15R photos or still go ahead to MTM my wedding gown. I loved to MTM a gown with full lace...however, it will need us to top up another $300-500.... After some consideration, we decided to go back and think about it. Going back end of this month again to discuss on designs and try on gowns for photoshoots.

It was really a very tiring day however, with great company from good friends who gave constructive suggestions to e gowns, it indeed help me to zoom down some gowns which are suitable and nice for me.

Our Declaration of Committement and Love Part 2

A couple of shots of us. Both of us are not really good at posing, so kudos to the photographer for his great advices and patience.

Laughter along the staricase.

Our simple yet elegant rings

Lovely gifts from dear's secondary galfriends. Especially like the floating cloth. Will definately make it one of the feature in our love nest when it is completed this September.

Dear's Mom wonderful addition to our buffet. She took 2 hours to cut all these fruits and did the arrangement on-site. Thanks Mom!!

Will not be posting all the photos on the blog but do check them out in the link below.

Last but no least, I would like to say thank you to my lovely bride for all her effort in conceptualizing the event when I was busy in the States on a work assignment. Next up, our renovation of our Home @ Tanglin Halt and I will be the captain of that project.

Our Declaration of Committement and Love Part 1

My dear and I make the most important declaration of our life by affirming our promise of love to each other in the presence of some of our friends and relatives. It was an event with a relatively short planning phase of a month when other took at least 3. However I would say that with my dear's great planning and vision and the help of many of our friends, it was a success but not without some hipcups.

Sharing with you some of the beautiful pictures of the day, with my lovely dear gracing most of them.

Relatives from my side including my Grandpa and Grandma.

Dear's mom and brother with 2 of her uncles. A shy bunch.

Our four groups of friends, University pals, Bryan my childhood friend with his wife Jiayi, Dear's Poly work colleagues and her childhood galfriends. Special thanks to Meiqi, WeiQiang, Sophia, Ching Ching and Stephanie for all their help before and during the event.
