Finally...Collection of Our Home Keys Part 1

After a long wait of 5 months since we placed our ballot for a Queenstown slot...which I tot would be jus for fun since the response was overwhelming and was banking on our chances for less desirable areas like Seng Kang and Pouggol, we finally are able to collect the keys.

It was a exciting process mixed with hope, disappointment and finally joy. Guess many of you would be going thru this in years to come ahead. We should count out lucky stars for getting a good ballot number 1x8 and equally lucky when 30+ dropped out before our turn. In the end, we managed to get a high floor unit and the unit of our choice in terms of layout.

So 5 months since we placed the ballot in Jan 2008, we are now offically proud owners of a HDB flat. The key collection process was tedious with lotsa documents to sign and we are glad to have a very efficient officer serving us who was patient with explaining the documents twice as dear can only reach 1/2 hr later than me.

With the keys in our hands, we made our way to the long-awaited house we can call our own (but with a 30 years loan of cos). Met my mom at the flat for some traditional ritual to announce our arrival and cleansing the area.

Our Declaration of Committement and Love Part 2

A couple of shots of us. Both of us are not really good at posing, so kudos to the photographer for his great advices and patience.

Laughter along the staricase.

Our simple yet elegant rings

Lovely gifts from dear's secondary galfriends. Especially like the floating cloth. Will definately make it one of the feature in our love nest when it is completed this September.

Dear's Mom wonderful addition to our buffet. She took 2 hours to cut all these fruits and did the arrangement on-site. Thanks Mom!!

Will not be posting all the photos on the blog but do check them out in the link below.

Last but no least, I would like to say thank you to my lovely bride for all her effort in conceptualizing the event when I was busy in the States on a work assignment. Next up, our renovation of our Home @ Tanglin Halt and I will be the captain of that project.

Our Declaration of Committement and Love Part 1

My dear and I make the most important declaration of our life by affirming our promise of love to each other in the presence of some of our friends and relatives. It was an event with a relatively short planning phase of a month when other took at least 3. However I would say that with my dear's great planning and vision and the help of many of our friends, it was a success but not without some hipcups.

Sharing with you some of the beautiful pictures of the day, with my lovely dear gracing most of them.

Relatives from my side including my Grandpa and Grandma.

Dear's mom and brother with 2 of her uncles. A shy bunch.

Our four groups of friends, University pals, Bryan my childhood friend with his wife Jiayi, Dear's Poly work colleagues and her childhood galfriends. Special thanks to Meiqi, WeiQiang, Sophia, Ching Ching and Stephanie for all their help before and during the event.
